Who we are

EV Scorecard is an evaluation desk for battery-electric cars. We publish one ranked list per year, scored on a single public method. The desk is editorial, not a dealer or a manufacturer: we accept no sponsored placements, and every car entry links to the manufacturer's site.

How we work

We do not operate a test fleet, and the method is built so we do not need one: range figures come from the U.S. DOE/EPA fueleconomy.gov database with record IDs published alongside, expert scores are restated from Car and Driver's published rankings with attribution, and anything unverified is marked as such rather than estimated. The current run is 2026.10 (10 cars, method version 2026.10). The list is updated between editions when a verified field changes, and the annual edition is archived at a permanent URL (/rankings/2026).
